| GUSP Workshop Series | 09-01-2009 |
| This workshop focuses on current research on globalization and socioeconomic transformations in world urban regions. Transnational processes such as economic globalization have posed both theoretical and methodological challenges for urban studies. This workshop aims to build a forum for interdisciplinary intellectual exchanges among students and faculty working on global urban issues. The workshop hosts a lively and interactive series of presentations covering such topics including migration, urban housing and labor market, planning and transportation, transnational activism, political economy of place, urban politics and governance, entrepreneurialism, mega projects and urban regeneration, technology and innovation, poverty, gentrification, creative class, art and cultural industries, architecture and built environment, preservation, and urban history. |

| The Fintz Award for Teaching Excellence in the Arts and Humanities recognizes outstanding faculty who in keeping with the goals of integrative studies seek to make students familiar with different ways of knowing and artistic expression and to assist them in developing critical thinking and effective communication skills.
