The Global Urban Studies program at Michigan State University strives to:

  • Provide quality graduate education to students enabling them to engage in careers that increase or apply knowledge to improve urban communities nationally and internationally.

  • Facilitate and undertake research to enhance knowledge of urban processes, policies, and issues in a comparative context, particularly focusing on the relationships between global processes and urban areas.

  • Serve as a University Center for collaboration, dissemination, debate, and awareness of urban issues in a comparative context and the impact of globalization on communities.
